Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, (Ikeja has added another feather to its cap. The National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) recently gave the high flying tertiary health facility the nod to commence a two year National Diploma (ND) programme in Orthopaedic Cast Technology.  This followed a comprehensive 3-day accreditation visit by a 6 man team from the Board.

This accreditation now grants the hospital a platform to start training POP (Plaster of Paris) technicians to service Trauma and Orthopaedics Units in other hospitals.

It must be clearly stated that this feat is undoubtedly attributable to the massive support of Mr. Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu to the hospital in providing finances, infrastructure and manpower development in the last four years .

In reacting to the news of the accreditation, the Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Professor Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo reiterated that the hospital management will continue to ensure that LASUTH remains a pride of the Lagos State government by taking the lead in providing excellent tertiary services and health manpower development.
