The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has assured Nigeria will witness massive infrastructure development if the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is elected on Saturday.

He said the infrastructure development report card of the APC-led administration in the last eight years is self-evident and fulfilment of the promises to Nigerians in 2015 and 2019.

Fashola, who is also the Director of the Election Planning and Monitoring Directorate of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC), gave the assurance during a strategic pre-election engagement with some members of FCT Yoruba Community for Tinubu, in Abuja.

Compared with the 16 years of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Fashola said the APC-led administration changed the face of the entire Federal Capital Territory and the entire nation, even in the face of a global economic downturn.

According to him: “The country stands to witness a more robust and well-coordinated infrastructure development in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Our scorecard in the last 8 years or there about is self-evident of the promise made, promise kept. And this is a virtue that set Asiwaju ahead of the pack.”

The Minister urged leaders and members of the Yoruba Community in Abuja to vote en masse for the APC presidential flag bearer, whose antecedents as a governor in Lagos State remain a barometer for measuring good governance in the country.

Fashola also charged the people to go out of the wards in the Area Council of FCT to educate the people, especially the younger and those of the voting age to vote for the APC flag bearer for the continuity of the laudable and people-centred projects and programmes.

The Convener of the programme and representative of FCT Yoruba Women, Hon Simi Fajemirokun, charged the members of the community to go all out a vote Tinubu/Shetimma on Saturday.

According to her: “The Yoruba vote is very important. We have a Yoruba candidate who is Asiwaju, it is important to show our strength as a community, as a people, and as a tribe. It’s a huge opportunity and it is important to shore up our strength.

“The Yorubas operate as a community and we are going out with our families to vote, that is important to note because we are not an individualistic tribe. Based on our culture, we are going to go out to vote for our candidate. Being the second largest tribe in FCT after the Hausas, we are going to ensure we deliver Asiwaju-Shetimna on Saturday.”

APC Senatorial aspirant for FCT and Director of NGOs Presidential Campaign Council for FCT, Hon. Adedayo Benjamin-Laniyi stressed the need for all Nigerians to rise above any sentiment to work for victory at the poll for Tinubu.

According to the grassroots mobiliser: “The duo of Asiwaju and Shetima represents dedication and intentional, about working opportunities for the common goal in an uncommon way.

“The task at hand in FCT is to deliver The Asiwaju Tinubu/Shetima candidacy. Asiwaju is Yoruba Agenda in FCT. There is no other message today than for God to direct the Yoruba Agenda.”
